People used to think that the earth was placed on the back of four gigantic elephants standing on the back of a huge turtle.
To me we are still in the same ages. We are not civilized enough. We still kill and torture others because what they believe is different from ours. We think our religion is right and the rest of the world is cheap and insane. We laugh at Muslim women who dive into swimming pool with full hijab on, but we ourselves believe Jesus could walk on the water, or Moses's stick turned into a snake that ate all other snakes. We believe all non-Muslims will go to hell, and only Muslim men get 72 virgins. We are the same Christians who beheaded priests who questioned the Roman church over 32 teeth of a horse just few centuries ago. We are the same Christians who imprisoned Galileo. Christianity is 2000 years old, and Islam is 1400, so I can't blame Taliban for their brutality and cruelty any less than the pre-renaissance church. If you think Islam is funny then let it evolve another 600 years and see.
According to the Abrahamic religions, the prophets and God are unique. They never make mistakes. Whatever they say is right and their holy books are correct. Then how do you explain this: Ecclesiastes 1:5 'the sun rises, and sets and return to its place'. So when you find the simplest mistake in one book you must cast doubt in the whole holy book. Something doesn't sound right. Normal and healthy humans must question their belief at least once in their lifetime. They are allowed to do that under Abrahamic religions. I've been raised with one so I know. People need to look at it from an angle that maybe, just maybe it could be a myth, an exaggerated series of events that turned into reality. When many people follow a wrong path or believe in a myth it automatically becomes reality.
We can't expect Swanny to change with just one post of ours.I do understand. It is difficult to question something that you are born with, raised with, taught with, lived with all your life. It is scary. It is scary to know there might be no god.
That is the truth, but we really don't know if there is god. At least not yet! Even if the prophets were sent by god, the evidence they left behind wasn't enough to convince people like me. According to the Abrahamic religions, god is God. He is the purest thing. He is the light. So why didn't he guide the prophets enough to leave a promising proof behind. According to Islam, there has been 124,000 prophets. Dear God, why didn't you just send just one to guide all of us at once? Look at the world now, Christians kills Jews, Jews kill Muslims, and Muslims kill themselves. Something's not right. The prophecy project failed. It didn't work, whether God was behind it, or Anunakies from the planet Nibiru. It didn't work. therefore, it was not sent by god.
I wish I was born in a time that humans had got over the issue with religion and faith. But we are still living in the pre-historian times.
